Fall has arrived! And even though it may not feel like it here in California, long sleeves and sweaters are just around the corner.

Many people feel that wearing a dress is only for summer weather, but it’s not! There are so many cute long sleeved dress options, and so many different ways to wear them. I came across this picture and thought “I have never thought about pairing a vest with a dress before” but can picture it in my head now.

Fall trend: long sleeve dress

I love the combination of the striped dress and the brown quilted vest. Of course with the matching booties! Now I’m not talking about your any day off the rack vest, it should really be a nice vest with some character to spice up your dress.
There are so many different options of long sleeved dresses. Doing a quick internet search turned up lots of options at many local stores like Macy’s, Nordstrom,  and Old Navy.
So what can you think of that would go well with a long sleeved dress? Or maybe even branch out and start thinking about wearing an item with an outfit that you wouldn’t have originally thought about.

I’ve been thinking for awhile doing a post on rompers. Now, they are not something that I feel I can pull off, but I do admire the girls that wear them. They look so cute and I have to admit I’m a bit envious. Recently a client came in for a second shoot (Yes! Return client!!) and she brought a beautiful, coral colored romper and I knew that was my cue to do this post.

Rompers are light weight and perfect for a hot summer, or fall, day. They would look super cute on date night as well.

There are so many different styles you can choose from. A romper would be a great choice if you aren’t comfortable wearing lingerie for your session. We can still glam it up and do some sexy poses.
Think about picking one up for your closet ladies, and bring it in for your shoot!!

Oh goodness guys! When I pulled up my Polyvore and saw these slips, I knew that this is what today’s post would be about. They are gorgeous and would look amazing in the studio, or the bedroom!

A slip can be a great way to hide any areas that you find less then desirable (which most of us have, myself included).

slips

What I love most about these slips is that some, like above, can have some sheer areas to add a bit of extra sexiness, or can be completely covered. The flower detail is so pretty and feminine. If you are larger chested be sure that the cups are supportive of your girls. You can’t go wrong with what you choose, just make sure it fits well 😉

We’ve officially hit fall and the cooler weather should be right around the corner, which means many of us will be donning cozy, chunky sweaters. Sweaters are a great layering item for boudoir shoots.

We’ve had many a past client bring in a comfy sweater and wear it over their favorite lingerie. We start you off looking nice and sweet in your sweater, then maybe slide it off one shoulder or pull it up on one side. Most clients get comfortable enough that the sweater can end up off and completely out of the shoot!

Danea shared the above photo on the blog recently, but in case you missed it this is an amazing example of what a sweater set could look like. Just a little skin showing, but very soft, classy and sensual.

Black and white is such a classic, simple, and stunning combination. But sometimes it’s nice to jazz it up with a pop of color. A bright color among a neutral can make them pop even more.

A nice example is to pair a red accessory with a black and white outfit, even if your thinking about your wardrobe for your boudoir shoot.

Get Graphic

You could choose to do a colored shoe (always a stiletto!), or a colored belt with a structured, tailored blouse would look amazing. A big, cozy, off the shoulder sweater with a colorful flower would look great with panties and some strappy colored heels.
You could even do a colored lingerie set under his button down shirt. Sticking with the red theme today I wanted to show some nice options if you choose to do a non-neutral option. Wearing black stockings and black heels would make the red pop even more.

Fall is in the air. Pumpkin spice flavored everything is about to break loose, and along with that… boot weather! I love wearing my tall boots during winter (and they look super cute in summer with a dress). Boots are comfy, and really do look good with almost any outfit.

I mainly wear my tall boots with jeans, with the jeans tucked into my boots. I’ve seen some super cute boot socks in some stores and also online. Some socks have lace at the top that will peak out the top of your boot, cute! I found this great link on Lucia K. Jewelry blog; it’s a great example. Check out her blog for more great examples.

I love this slightly casual but trendy look below.

Casual Weekend Style

If you wear dresses during the summer you can still wear your boots. I love this look! I don’t wear dress often, but this look makes me rethink that.

If you’re a legging type person, rock your boots with those too! I love this outfit as well. This photo comes from Gurl.com and shows 20 tips to wear leggings.

I’m a little fashion challenged. Like I mentioned last week, my every day outfit is jeans and a tank top. When winter comes it’s jeans, a tank top, and a hoodie. For my birthday earlier this year Danea and I decided to go out, and for that we both needed a new dress. She mentioned to me a wrap style dress. Have you seen these while out shopping?

wrap dresses

A wrap dress is nice because it can compliment so many different body styles, as I tried to show above. If you happen to have a few extra pounds, or are still trying to loose the baby weight from 8 years ago (who, me?!) a wrap style dress will fit your shape nicely. And they can so easily go from a day to night look. Add some stockings and a simple necklace for work, then bling it up by adding a statement necklace and some nice strappy heels.
You could even bring a wrap dress to your boudoir session! Imagine, we start nice and sweet with some glamour type shots, then slowly unwrap your dress to show the beautiful bra and panty set with a garter and some stockings underneath. I know you can see yourself doing it!
