San Jose Boudoir Photography

For the past two weeks I have been quite ill. What started as a sore throat, turned into the loss of my voice and a weekend in bed. Thankfully I am finally starting to get my energy back and can get some work done around here!

Before this virus kicked my butt I had been working on some marketing items. I created some very pretty gift certificates to hand out to a few local boutiques. I also got in touch with my crafty side and made this very lovely bouquet for Melanie at Dutchess Intimates Boutique. I have to admit I have quite enjoyed seeing it sit on the cabinet behind the dining room table since completing it and I will be a little sad to see it’s cheery blossoms leave our home.

In other news, I finally finished my About page. 😉 Also, I will be announcing our next marathon sessions very soon. Those of you who are signed up for our newsletter will be receiving dates and information in advance- you lucky dames!

It’s one thing to have the love and support of your family during your business adventures, but it’s truly divine when that support comes in the form of a curvaceous, and might I add HOT mom of 58! Yes folks, this is my mother(grandmother of 6) who graciously allowed me to photograph her while she was in town. Not only that but she’s letting me post some of the shots! Now THAT’s what I call supportive!

What I love about these images, besides the fact that she looks amazing, is that she has proven that you can look sexy without revealing it all. I get a lot of woman who say “When I lose 10 more pounds…” or “but my tummy is just too big…” My response is that we all have “trouble” areas and that’s normal. Most of us could stand to lose a few pounds but who cares! Besides, no one said that having a boudoir shoot means you have to be naked, or completely in your skivvies. It’s about seduction. It’s about femininity. It’s about YOU, and the beauty that you are. Mom chose to keep the cardigan on, it’s what made her comfortable and that level of comfort shines with great confidence in her images.

Who says you have to be young to be sexy? I say that sexiness comes from embracing yourself and who you are, at ANY age!

Go forth ladies, show ’em what you got and be proud of it!

… and for you mom, keep on representin’! 😉

The wonderful Miss Julie!

This lovely lady is my makeup artist aka my MUA. *Note I may be using the MUA abbreviation in the future as it’s so much easier to type- some might call that laziness I like to think of it as a great time management skill. 😉 She has been doing such an amazing  job with our clients. She received her license from the Redkin Academy for salon Professionals here in San Jose, where she is now an assistant teacher, so proud of you girly!!

Miss Julie is friendly, easy going and so much fun to work with. My playful sarcasm is bounced right back at me, just another talent this lady has. Ha! I can say with assurance that Julie will do an amazing job with your make over and I am thrilled that she is on my team, which will undoubtedly be growing into an amazing all female crew!
