The Studio Is Ready

Dec 2nd, we held our Boudoir Coterie photography studio launch party and it was so much fun! Thank you so much to all the wonderful ladies who attended, making the night a success! It’s always nice meeting new faces and sharing what I do. Guests sipped champagne, enjoyed cupcakes, mingled and even got to see a live demo, thanks to my very brave and beautiful friend Devon, who was willing to be my model for this mini boudoir shoot. What was even cooler(for me at least) was that another friend, Ramona, took some snapshots of everyone, including me in action. She managed to snap a few images that show my angle during the photo shoot and I can show the finished image- how cool is that!?

Here are a few finished boudoir images from that demo- now I will be honest I much prefer natural light and this was a night time, one light demo, slightly out of my comfort zone(not to mention I had a freakin’ audience…Â not nerve wracking at all… hahaha). But in all seriousness, I had a blast! So again, THANK YOU to everyone who came… and especially to my amazing husband who put all the finishing touches on the studio the night before and to my wonderful assistant Hope, who helped pull the party together! â™¥

I’m tingly with excitement!

Alright ladies now is your chance… and before you get all shy and bashful, just note that you don’t have to be a size two to rock the boudoir world. In my studio everyone is sexy and gorgeous, so take a deep breath and give it a shot(even if you’re not chosen you’ll get a sweet little gift just for being brave enough to try). 😉

Without further adieu…

So here’s a little more info and a recap of the details:

You MUST be at least 18 years of age.
There is no cash value for any prizes awarded.
You MUST be willing to sign a model release to use your images online, in print and in promotions.
You will NOT be asked to shoot nudes, it’s about your comfort level and we will NEVER cross that line.
You absolutely, positively need to be available for the test shoot on Jan 7th. No exceptions.
Past clients are more than welcome to enter, why the heck not, right!?
The three sessions will take place throughout the year and we will of course, work around your schedule. Please doÂ not enter if you are hesitant about this or know you will not be available to do three shoots during the 2012 calendar year.
Any referral credits you earn can go towards purchases you would like to make of images from your sessions or towards your own custom session at full price.
Voting will take place online. I am still looking for a blog poll option but it may happen using FB image “Likes”. I want something that restricts multiple votes from one person. 😉
You do not have to lose “that last 10-20lbs” to look fabulous… trust me, you look gorgeous just the way you are, right now!
We reserve the right to veto votes, and if need be, cancel the contest or void the chosen winner if circumstances change. But we don’t want to do anything negative so let’s keep this clean, fun and drama free ladies!

*** The question about what type of images are needed for submitting has been brought up. The answer is any sort of image that let’s me see what you look like, I don’t care if you have makeup on or not, are standing with your ex and his pet turtle, or wearing clown shoes. I just need to see what you look like, just an idea. Why does it not matter if it’s an awesome shot of yourself? Because ladies, I am going to take your picture and create gorgeous shots for the voting process. seriously all I need to see is facial features and body type. Easy peasy!

I have mentioned this many times but want to remind you all once more that if you were thinking about giving an album this holiday season, then album orders need to be completed and sent to the lab by Nov 18th. I have only two remaining dates available before then:

– Thursdays, 9:30am Nov 10th
– Saturday, 10am Nov 12th.

Please let me know if either of these dates work so we can get you booked in and start planning the perfect session for you.

San Jose Boudoir Photographer | The Studio- It’s All Mine!

It’s been a whirlwind of a week and as some of you may already know, I found a place! Every time I think about it I get butterflies. Actually, I believe it may be a whole flock of butterflies. Do butterflies flock? Certainly it wouldn’t be a herd of butterflies? Maybe a swarm, butÂ a swarm of butterflies sounds menacing and I picture greaser like butterflies with switch blades and leather jackets coming at me. Wait, a kaleidoscope. Yes, a kaleidoscope of butterflies(that sounds pretty), flutter around in my tummy. At least 103 I believe.Â That’s a LOT of butterflies, but I digress… I cannot believe this has all happened so fast and out of the blue, but the perfect little gem presented itself to me and it was an opportunity that I couldn’t pass up. I have been in a frenzy trying to find items to furnish this space and so far so good. I get the keys Oct 1st and will need to do some quick designing and arranging for my first client shoot later that week. *Eek* I am so excited, words cannot express it! Here’s a little peek- furniture in the pictures belongs to the current tenant but I am crossing my fingers that the couch will stay. 😉

It’s small, but lovely and has so much potential. â™¥

San Jose Boudoir Photography: Party Time!

For all those How I Met Your Mother fans are out there but I am totally going to be a “Wooooooo!” girl for a moment. Here goes:

WOOOOOOOOOO!

I’m excited to announce our first ever Boudoir Party! This is NOT a marathon but a small gathering of ladies who will be pampered and made up while enjoying refreshments and goodies. Then you will be whisked away from the gathering for a private 20 minute session. Come solo or with a friend. Just a heads up for any solo ladies- you will have a blast with us so please don’t feel like you need to know people there, you will be so busy being made up, having fun and photographed that you won’t even care. Besides we’re a pretty inviting team, if I do say so myself. However, you can always book with a group of friends then celebrate your sexiness with an evening out on the town(since you’ll be looking all fine and feel amazing when you’re session is through). Plus I’ll give a bonus gift to everyone who books with a friend!

So gather your curage and your friends and come enjoy a girls night out like you’ve never had before. Please note that sessions times are limited and I can only accommodate 7-10 girls, so please book early... Psssttt, check out the bottom fine print about booking by Sept 1st.

Expanding Our Team

Boudoir Photography San Jose Bay Area

As Coterie continues to grow, so will our amazing team. I am very excited to welcome Melissa Hoffmann as our newest make-up and hair stylist! Recently relocating from Sacramento, Melissa has been a professional makeup artist and licensed esthetician for over 2 years and has lots of experience with boudoir, beauty, and fashion makeup.

I love using makeup to enhance a woman’s natural beauty and bring out her fun, confident, and sexy side. My style is soft and sultry and I am constantly increasing my knowledge and education on the best products and techniques to bring to my artistry.

Melissa will be working on our upcoming April 30th Mini Marathon and I can’t wait for this exciting shoot! *There is still some availability for those interested in this VERY cool location shoot.
