What to Wear Wednesday | Santa Cruz Los Gatos Bay Area Boudoir Photographer

Holy cow it has been hot here the last few days! When we get weather like this that stays hot for a few days in a row, all I can think of wearing is something lightweight, breathable, and cool. Jean shorts can be hot and uncomfortable. If you agree and are wanting a different option, try linen or cotton shorts.

What I like about these type of shorts is that they can be patterned or a solid color. This type of fabric is so lightweight and soft, exactly what you want on these hot days.

A patterned pair can be fun to wear, and some even have tassels or fringe to add to the fun look.

I just love how these shorts can be for a casual look

Or can be more of a dressed up but still casual look

A few more of my favorite ideas on how to wear these shorts is to pair it with a lightweight kimono for those cooled down nights

Even paired with an off the shoulder top for an ultimate summer look

What to Wear Wednesday | Santa Clara Sunnyvale Bay Area Boudoir Photographer

Every woman should have a few staples in her closet, the Little Black Dress (LBD) should be one. But what about another dress option, the Little White Dress?!! You haven’t thought about that, have you?! Today I’m going to make you contemplate buying one of these pretty dresses to add to your wardrobe.

A Little White Dress is a great option because since it’s a neutral you have so many different options in ways to wear it. The first step is to buy the silhouette that flatters your body. After that, let’s look at how to style it.

An off the shoulder dress is a fantastic option for these warm summer months.

Try pairing it with some gladiator sandals.

Eeek I love this one! A lightweight cardigan, a fantastic patterned belt that ties in with the shoes!! This is one fantastic outfit.

Of course you can always wear white with white.

Light colored accents can be just as great as bright ones. I love this blue bag and the long sweater is amazing paired with this LWD.

Of course feel free to wear those bright colored heels. They’ll look amazing.

What to Wear Wednesday | Santa Clara San Jose Bay Area Boudoir Photographer

Denim is such a versatile choice to wear. I do have to admit though, that I find white denim difficult to wear. But I have come across some great ways to wear white denim.

A great pairing is to choose a gorgeous jewel toned top and pair with white denim bottoms.

Another great top choice to pair with white jeans is a soft pastel blouse and some super cute wedges.

Do wear a fun one shoulder blouse and a pop of color on your feet. These red shoes look great with this outfit.

If you’re more of a casual type gal feel free to still wear your white jeans with a sweater and some sneakers.

If you are not up to wearing white denim jeans, think about a white denim jacket.

Pair your white jacket with a fun skirt and the it shoe this summer, the espadrille, for a complete summer look.

What to Wear Wednesday | Campbell San Jose Bay Area Boudoir Photographer

There are so many different fashion trends that come and go across the years. One year it’ll be in, the next out and eventually a few years pass and it’s all the rage again.

One trend I see over and over again for this year is the Bohemian style look. This look is signified by their fun patterns, loose flowy material and a very casual overall look.

Let me share with you some of the great Boho styles I’ve come across.

The pattern of this skirt is beautiful and you can tell by looking that it would be so comfortable to wear. I love pairing it with a flat pair of simple sandals and worn with a cream colored top. The hat really makes this outfit too, if you’re a hat person.

I love this patterned top. Seriously I want it for my own.

It looks great paired with denim shorts and some fun sandals.

These Boho pattern shorts look fantastic paired with this cream colored romantic top.

What to Wear Wednesday | Mountain View Los Altos Bay Area Boudoir Photographer

I love finding new websites and new things to share with you. Do you ever feel that you are just seeing the same thing over and over and over in different stores? I know I do. So, this website I’ve stumbled across is called Lulu’s, and they have some super cute clothes!

Today I want to focus on some of their fantasticÂ dresses, since the temperature is rising and that means most people want to wear as little clothes as possible and dresses are a great option for that.

I love maxi dresses, or at least dresses that are roughly knee length. I enjoy that I found some fun patterns that I haven’t seen anywhere and of course the obligatory black maxi dress.

If you do like knee length dresses there are plenty of options as well. I can say that I am truly in love with this middle teal colored dress.

If you are more of a shorter dress lover there are plenty of options too. Some of these even caught my eye.

They really do have something for everyone’s style and look you are going for. From modest to more revealing, fun colors and patterns, long and short. Take a look around and show me your favorite!

What to Wear Wednesday | Campbell San Jose Bay Area Boudoir Photographer

You weren’t expecting me today, were you?!! I like to keep you all on your toes a bit. My weekly fashion posts will now be on Wednesday so keep an eye out to lift you out of that mid week slump.

So, what are we going to talk about today? Well, it has been super hot here the last few days and it made me think of flowy material and wearing something super comfy. which leads me to jumpsuits. They are super comfy, can be casual or dressy, and depending on which one you choose I think can even be worn to work. Let me show you some of what I’ve come across.

This yellow jumpsuit is gorgeous and a great color choice for the season.

You can wear this jumpsuit with some white heels or wedges and totally pull this look off for work or a date night out.

A pattern fabric is a great choice as well.

If you prefer a more neutral color, there are so many black fabric choices. Here are a few of my favorites that I found.

I love the different neckline and straps on each. And pockets?! I love pockets on outfits like these!

If I had you at the patterned jumpsuits, look at these.

I love the one shoulder look, and that purple with green flowers is so elegant looking. Either again are great for a work to date night look.

Fashion Friday | San Jose Santa Clara Bay Area Boudoir Photographer

I hate to be the one to break it to you, but swimsuit season is right around the corner. Today I wanted to highlight swimsuits. Recently in the news there has been some praise for Target for using plus size models in their swimsuit campaigns. I wanted to share some of their plus size suits I found online.

I love Target. It’s convenient, there’s one on every corner, and they have cute stuff. I enjoy featuring things that you can get locally; that when you see it you can go to your local store and try it on for yourself. So please, if you see something here today that you like, see if your local store has it and go try it on! Take a few sizes into the fitting room with you as every clothing manufacturer cuts their sizes differently.

First off I’ll show you some one pieces. Not everyone is comfortable in a bikini or tankini, so these suits are for you if you are more comfortable in a 1 piece.

If there’s one thing that you should have learned by now from me, it’s about adding detail to your look. I love these suits above for their detail. The white crocheting around the bust is amazing. The black crochet and the straps of the top suit add that little bit extra, and I love the contrast of the solid black and the summery pattern in the left photo.

Ok, so what if a 2 piece is your style, but you prefer a tankini 2 piece rather than a bikini? Of course I’ve got you covered there as well.

Summery colors, halter type straps, flowy comfortable fabric, and some extra glitz are why I chose these tankinis. I like that you can mix and match these pieces. There are many different styles of bottoms to choose from so you really can pick your own style and make it unique.

And for those that prefer a bikini, here’s my choices for you.

The back of the top bikini?!!! Wow I love it. Again it’s just that little detail that really makes an outfit and a bathing suit is no different. I love the tropical print of the left suit and the contrast of the two different patterns of the right suit.

Most of us loath this upcoming swimsuit season, but get out there and try some different patterns on! Finding one that fits well, no matter what the size says on the label, will make you feel more comfortable. And finding one that is cute just adds to that!
