More Than A Pretty Picture : San Jose bay Area Boudoir Photography

I’m not sure if I’ve ever said this publicly… okay, yes I have, many a time and here it goes again…. I LOVE my job. There are so many reasons as to why, with a big part of it being the creativity. Not only do I get to guide my clients, I get to be artistic in how each girl is photographed. We work together with posing and expressions. Then I get to finish each image… more creativity. ♥ I rarely do very much to an image and try to stay as true to the woman and her natural beauty as possible. But the real reason I love this job, and as silly or cliche as this might sound, is my clients.

Every client is different from personality to ethnicity and body shape. Each woman has come to me with an openness and trust to help her look and feel her best. Strangely I never feel the pressure to do so, it just happens. I don’t doubt it will happen, it just does. Now granted when I have the amazing talent of Andrea or Melissa at my side doing hair and makeup, it’s one less thing for me to worry about. They do their magic. I do mine. But no session would be successful without the key player, the client. 🙂

Getting to know my clients can be key to successful sessions and another great “perk” of the job. Knowing what they want, how they want to look and the final images they would like to present is a fun calibration on everyone’s part and ultimately it always circles back to trust. In a recent session my client Miss J put her full trust in me. The results were magnificent. She quite literally bared it all. She told me her story, she opened up and put her trust in me and she embraced this opportunity to do something she wouldn’t normally do.

Behind every pretty picture I take, is a woman. A woman with a story. A woman  who wants nothing more than to feel beautiful in her own skin.

Oh my, the colors in this photograph just pop, and she is so very striking – I absolutely love it!

    Aren’t women wonderful?!?

I was really impressed with her- she was willing to try stuff but also came with props, ideas and ready to go! And- just to be honest- she’s a knockout. But what I’m noticing is that no matter how much someone else thinks you have a great body, women don’t seem to realize it. We all focus on our flaws instead of the beauty that’s right in front of us. I am guilty of this too. I see the beauty in other women but sometimes can’t see it in the mirror. I challenge all of you ladies to look in the mirror and focus on the first thing you see that is beautiful, and not let any so called “flaws” take away from that. And hey-you make think your but looks big, but I’m pretty sure that’s a good thing!
