San Jose Boudoir Photography: What To Wear

I was checking out The Lingerie Journal this morning and came across this video. The creative in me was of course, completely drawn in. Yes, she may be a professional lingerie model but this video is very similar to how a boudoir shoot plays out. I LOVE it- makes me excited for my next session.

Who wouldn’t want to look and feel this sexy?!

Sheer Sexy

San Jose Boudoir Photography

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, a little bit of covered skin can be just as sexy, if not more, than bare nekkid. They may not all admit it, but men love a little teasing. A hint of skin, a peep of naughtiness and you can have them eating out of your hand. Other benefits to having a little skin covered up- it’s a great way to discretely hide areas that you might be a little self conscious about. Having a boudoir shoot does NOT mean you have to be naked or in lingerie only. Beautiful and sexy outfits can be found everywhere when you think out of the box.

I’ve decided to start “Sheer Sexy” posts. These will be outfit ideas from lingerie to a sports jersey. Items that will make you feel and look gorgeous for your Coterie session.

Today I’m showing off some cute sheer tops. Sheer clothing with a little bit of pattern can be amazingly sexy when going bare underneath. Of course I wouldn’t recomend the bare look if your running to the grocery store but I’m all for it if you’re in front of my camera. You may even have items like this in your closet. Pairing these tops with different foot wear can create wonderfully different looks. Sweet, flirty, classy, glam. High heals are a must for sexy boudoir shoots. Don’t wear heals or own anything photo worthy? Don’t want to spend a fortune on shoes you may only wear once(or twice if your man requests the live view of your gorgeous images). Well you’re in luck, I found these amazing websites that have an enormous selection of HOT shoes for very little money. These pewter knee boots are $16!! No more excuses. 😉

… no, not a client, I’m talking about this blog-site. Like a girl in need of the perfect accessory, so too is this website. The good news is, I have everything to pull the whole outfit together, I just haven’t had the time to empty all the shopping bags and remove the tags. How’s that for a girly analogy. 😉 I was informed that the previous site was not performing well for Explorer and Chrome users so I did everything I could to fix it and was still out of luck. I took that as a sign to finally revamp this site. Unfortunately this all comes at a time when I am super busy with shoots, editing and orders. However I couldn’t leave well enough alone and hated that my blog posts looked wonky. So for now at least everything is functioning fine, but this site is looking a wee bit… blah. No worries my friends within the next two weeks this gal should have a complete make over and I’m pretty excited about it too.

Must Have Shoes

Since it’s so beautiful here in Northern California today, I thought this Spring-like playful shoe was in order. It’s just so girly and fun. Gotta love Zappos! This beauty is called Pansy by Not Too Coy, and comes in three different colors. These make me long for summer dresses and manicured toes. ♥♥♥

Walk This Way

Boudoir Photography San Jose Bay area

Sunday I went shopping with a girlfriend to purchase a new birthday outfit for Saturday’s hot date with the hubby. I purchased a dress- something I don’t wear much of, mostly due to having a hard time finding pretty and sexy *flat* shoes. At the store we were shopping at I discovered Kitten Heal shoes- thanks Devon for giving them a name for me. 😉 I have rarely come across this style shoe while on my never ending hunt and sadly the one pair I liked did not have my size. Thus began my online search. I came upon Shoes.com and yes I managed to find lots of possible low heal options. However, like always, my not so secret longing to wear actual heals lead me to a line called Naughty Monkey- who could resit a name like that? Not I! Wow, do they have some fun and sexy shoes.

As I’ve said before, sexy heals are a must have for boudoir shoots. This doesn’t mean you have to spend a fortune on a one time wear. You can borrow from a friend or scour some online deals if heals are just not your thing. I am hoping to eventually start a collection of shoe options to offer clients but until then you can all gaze longingly, like I do, at some super hot heals here on my blog.

I will always be a sucker for animal prints and check out the heal design on that gray shoe- pure sparkly awesomeness! Many of these styles come in multiple colors and patterns so go check THESE out- you naughty little monkey you. 😉

P.S. How many of you started singing “Walk this way, talk this waaay… ♪♫ ♪” by Areosmith and Run DMC after reading that title? If not are ya now? Ha.

Sweet and Sexy Boudoir Fashions

One of the most common questions asked by those wanting to do  shoot is “What should I wear?” The answer is very simple, anything that makes you feel sexy.

I’m starting a new category(you can find categories at the top of each post) called What To Wear. I’ll be posting everything from cool lingerie finds at local shops to shoes and accessories found online. You’ll see lots of fantastic ideas so you can begin planning the perfect outfits for your shoot.

Some basics- pretty bra and panty set. I think every girl feels sexy when she wears a matching set, even if it’s under jeans and a casual tee. You know it’s there, and it feels good! So don’t forget this basic essential.

Accessorize- Bring that favorite chunky necklace or floral hair piece. I love the details of feminine pieces and they add gorgeous texture to your images.

Sassy shoes- Even if you don’t normally wear heals they can do wonders for your legs during your boudoir session. Shoes can be sexy, sultry or just plain fun! Don’t have a pair? Try asking your friends, maybe you could borrow the perfect pair for your session.

Non lingerie pieces- This adorable polka dot, see through cardigan has beautiful detail and looks very alluring paired with this sexy bra and bead necklace. It also serves the added advantage of a slight cover for those who may be a little bit shy.
