Fashion Friday – Another Etsy Holiday | San Jose Boudoir Photography

I seriously don’t know where this year has gone, but apparently it’s holiday shopping time already (at least according to the 900 retail emails I get each day). Last year I put together a fun Etsy gift guide, and since it’s Fashion Friday, I thought it’d be fun to do another one with a focus on accessories and other things you can wear. Who doesn’t love a cozy scarf or sparkly jewelry?

In case youâ€™re not familiar, Etsy is an e-commerce site that focuses mainly on handmade and vintage goods. Since almost anyone can open up an Etsy shop, itâ€™s a perfect place to support small businesses and to find some really unique stuff. Of course, the downside is that thereâ€™s a whole lot of garbage on Etsy too, but thatâ€™s always good for a few laughs.

One of the things I really love about Etsy is that you can find unique gifts at all different price points, and no one needs to know how much you spent! I tried to include items to fit every budget, and there is nothing more than (or really even close to) $100. No matter the cost, I always think it’s special to receive a gift that’s handmade or one of a kind. You can’t put a price tag on that.

Fashion Friday – On the Inside | San Jose Boudoir Photography

Friday already? My brain is still on Labor Day Weekend mode, but I guess Iâ€™m a little behind this week.

Iâ€™m still in a post-vacation fog after returning from my second trip to Las Vegas this summer, so I took to Etsy this week to dig up some fun fashion finds for you. In case you couldnâ€™t tell, Iâ€™m a big fan of Etsy and have a real appreciation for anything hand made.

Since just about anyone can open an Etsy shop, thereâ€™s often a lot of junk to weed through, but thatâ€™s kind of the fun part, and makes it even more rewarding when you find something good.

It didnâ€™t take me long to find something good this time around, and that something good is a handmade lingerie shop called â€œOn the Inside.â€ I was immediately drawn to this shop because of their tagline, â€œComfortable Lingerie, Lovingly Made.â€ Sexy + comfortable is a winning combo in my book, and I think shop owner Elise Olson really hit the nail on the head with her company description.

â€œI love making women feel good, inside and out. I truly believe that if you are comfortable, you look and feel more sexy. This is what I strive to do with every piece of lingerie that I make for you.â€

In addition to being incredibly cute, most of the lingerie can be ordered in a standard size OR custom made based on your own measurements at no extra charge, which really alleviates the risk of buying lingerie online.

I love everything about this set! I love the color, the fact that it’s made from soft bamboo jersey fabric, it’s sexy, and being modeled by a gorgeous woman with curves.

I’m a sucker for a pretty nightie that’s actually comfortable enough to sleep in, and this one looks like it fits the bill.

Here’s another great set. I love the how the black lace and bold colors make it perfect for a boudoir session, but it’s also practical enough for every day wear.

In addition to all the unique styles on the site, On the Inside also offers panty and lingerie set of the month clubs. How neat is that? It’s never too early to start holiday shopping!

Fashion Friday Ohhh Lulu | San Jose Boudoir Photography

Happy Friday! I hope everyone (who celebrates) had a fabulous 4th of July!

I was tempted to do a 4th of July post last week, but red, white and blue lingerie seemed lame. I Googled â€œfireworksâ€ and â€œlingerieâ€ together, but the only thing that came up was Katy Perry performing her song â€œFireworkâ€ at a Victoriaâ€™s Secret fashion show. Not exactly what I was going for. (Donâ€™t ask what I thought I was going to find. I had no idea).

Anyway, Iâ€™ve been busy with moving for the last few weeks, and then once I got settled, I got sick. Needless to say, I needed a little help with inspiration for this weekâ€™s Fashion Friday, so I took to Pinterest for ideas and it did not disappoint. I was just a few scrolls in when I found a really neat handmade lingerie shop on EtsyÂ calledÂ Ohhh Lulu.

I have to say, Iâ€™m really impressed by anything handmade. The best thing I know how to make is a good salad, so I have a lot of respect for people who make things that are good enough to sell and have people actually buy.

Besides lots of really cute lingerie, which Iâ€™ll get to shortly, there are a ton of neat things about Ohhh Lulu. The company started as a hobby for Sarah Elaine when she graduated from fashion school, and itâ€™s since turned into a full time business. In addition to selling her cute lingerie items, she also sells a few sewing patterns in a separate Etsy shop – Ohhh Lulu Sews! Aside from her Etsy store, she has an awesome website and fun a blog where she shares stories about her life, inspiration, etc. What I also think makes Ohh Lulu neat is how she photographs her lingerie. Iâ€™ve seen some pretty nice lingerie photographed on creepy mannequins on Etsy, so I really appreciate Ohh Luluâ€™s unique approach.

Alright, now Iâ€™ll quit rambling and get to the fun stuff. It was hard to pick just a few pieces to feature from Ohhh Lulu, but here are a few of my favorites from her shop:

I told ya her stuff is cute! I now officially want all of it. I also really want to go on a picnic and eat cupcakes while wearing cute lingerie.

Anyway, I love the props Sarah uses in her photos and I think they lend themselves to awesome boudoir session inspiration too. I could totally see a boudoir session in that adorable strawberry bra and panty set with cupcake props (I think this could be interpreted in more way than one…). How yummy!

A Very Etsy Holiday|San Jose Boudoir Photography

Â Anyone else feeling a little bombarded by big retailers this year? I guess I should probably get better with the â€œunsubscribeâ€ button, but every day I get a good 25-50 emails from different stores touting all kinds of sales. Thankfully I have DVR, so I can skip most of the TV commercials, but I know theyâ€™re out there too.

Whatâ€™s even more crazy is that my husband and I were at Best Buy the Friday BEFORE Thanksgiving and there was a tent with people camping outside for Black Friday deals. Iâ€™m not sure what kind of deals they were offering, but that just seemed plain old crazy to me. I love a good sale just as much (if not more) than the next guy, but I canâ€™t think of a single sale that Iâ€™d give up a week of my life for.

Anyway, now that I have that out of the way. I do love the holiday season and the giving and receiving that comes along with it. For the last few years Iâ€™ve been doing a lot of shopping online and really love Etsy.
