December has arrived! I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. Tis the season of Holiday work parties, and I know there are so many questions about what to wear, or what you should wear to these. I came across an article this week that I wanted to share with you, and while I don’t agree with everything they say, there are definitely good tips.

Some of their tips are:

  1. Don’t wear anything you would wear to the club! And while I wouldn’t think this really needs to be said, I’m sure it does for someone out there lol! Really, leave the sheer and mini skirts at home ladies.
  2. Do dress a bit more conservatively than you would at a party with your close friends.
  3. Don’t show up wearing something you would normally wear to work. If the dress code isn’t super fancy, it can be nice still to glam it up a bit more than a normal workday. Have fun with it, in a nice classy way lol.

What would a Fashion Friday post be without some suggestions right?!!

Holiday Office Party

I love this gold dress. It’s so beautiful, but not overly dressed up. This would be super easy to accessorize too; some black pumps like shown and some dangly earrings and you are set!

I love this red dress! The cutouts at the bottom are simply stunning, and the bows on the shoes are so classy. Don’t forget a stunning statement necklace to finish off the look.

Maybe your Holiday party isn’t super fancy; a nice pair of skinny jeans, a stunning sweater and some cute booties would make the perfect look.
So tell me, what look do you go for? Super dressy or more of a casual look? Whatever it may be, enjoy and have a great time!

The Holidays are coming!!!! If you are thinking about booking a session with us to surprise your significant other with a beautiful album or perhaps even a canvas, call us!!!! December 1 is the deadline for ordering an album to have it arrive in time.

Phew, now that my PSA is out of the way, why don’t I give you some ideas about what to wear for your upcoming holiday shoot! We just have to go along with the Naughty or Nice theme; after all, isn’t that the biggest question around this time of the year?!

Naughty or Nice?

What you wear depends on your comfort level. Don’t bring something you are not feeling sure of yourself in, because it will come across in your photos. If you are on the more daring side bring something a little see through or more revealing. A bra & panty set with a garter and stockings are a great choice. Feeling a little shy, choose a corset or a chemise. You can still bring stockings to wear. Stockings add a little sensuality to almost anything you bring in. And there are always silk robes that you can cover up with to your liking, and feel a bit more flirty. Don’t forget heels and stockings no matter what you bring!
What are you waiting for, we are waiting for you!! Call us today to book your session. Danea offers complimentary wardrobe consults and can even meet you at a lingerie store to see how things fit on you and guide you in your selections. We will make sure you feel and look fabulous for your session.

Fall is here ya’ll!! Holy cow is it cold when I take my oldest to school in the morning. In light of the cooler weather I want to talk to you about sweaters.

I love a comfy sweater! it can be snug, oversized, solid, striped or whatever you like. There are so many different options and so many different ways to wear a sweater. Jeans, skirt, leggings; boots, flats, heels… really, you decide!

Love the combination of the camel colored sweater along with the leopard flats.

When looking through Polyvore this week for my inspiration, I couldn’t help but notice all the posts about a wool coat. Have you seen these? They look so warm and cozy; great for the chilly fall days and cooler winter days. What I really like is how versatile they are, and how they apparently come in a variety of colors.

This green coat is so beautiful. The color is so light and screams Spring, which can help pull you through the upcoming dark winter days. It looks stunning paired with black trousers.

Fall Street Style - Wool Coat

This dark maroon coat compliments the soft pink of this dress very nicely, and I love the black booties paired with it.
Cold Weather Essentials: Wool Coat

Another way to wear a colored wool coat is casually, maybe for a calm evening out. The yellow of this coat looks great with the chosen leopard boots. You could even pair with a pair of leopard pumps!

However you would wear your colored wool coat, don’t forget to accessorize properly! The perfect pair of earrings or necklace can make your outfit, and that is no different when wearing a beautiful coat.

Halloween is in one week! I know so many people that go to, or host, a Halloween party. It can be hard to come up with a costume that is an original idea, and also not on the revealing side (unless you want it to be!).

Browsing through I saw quite a few good ideas making me wish I had done this post last night instead of after my shopping excursion this morning.

Some cute ideas I saw that would be easy to do on your own are things like different animal costumes, Disney princesses or a villain.

This “Sean the Sheep” costume is adorable!

A Butterfly Costume would be right up my alley

This Fox costume is so unique!

If you know me, you know my love for Disney so it only makes sense I share a few with you.
Eve is my favorite! And how easy would that be to do yourself?!

Either of these costumes would be easy to put together.

Eeekkk!!! I am in love with this idea.

And another personal favorite,

Cruella De Vil

I hope I’ve inspired you a bit to think outside the packaged costume and put something together yourself! Keep browsing through the ideas I gave you and I know you’ll come up with your own great idea. I’ve give you a week to get your costume together, that’s plenty of time! I wanna see what you come up with.
Have a happy and safe Halloween!

Fall has arrived! And even though it may not feel like it here in California, long sleeves and sweaters are just around the corner.

Many people feel that wearing a dress is only for summer weather, but it’s not! There are so many cute long sleeved dress options, and so many different ways to wear them. I came across this picture and thought “I have never thought about pairing a vest with a dress before” but can picture it in my head now.

Fall trend: long sleeve dress

I love the combination of the striped dress and the brown quilted vest. Of course with the matching booties! Now I’m not talking about your any day off the rack vest, it should really be a nice vest with some character to spice up your dress.
There are so many different options of long sleeved dresses. Doing a quick internet search turned up lots of options at many local stores like Macy’s, Nordstrom,  and Old Navy.
So what can you think of that would go well with a long sleeved dress? Or maybe even branch out and start thinking about wearing an item with an outfit that you wouldn’t have originally thought about.
