When you think of doing a boudoir session, what type of outfits come to mind? Lingerie? Bra & panty set? Stockings? A teddy? You would be right, but there are other options too. Some women feel more comfortable in a more relaxed outfit, such as some boy shorts, a sexy v-neck shirt, and some tall socks.

The main thing about the session is to choose what you feel beautiful, sexy and comfortable in. Above would be more my style lol. I’m a very “jeans & t-shirt” type of gal.

I like that they chose a strappy bra to peek out of the top. Some full bottom panties and tall socks or even leg warmers are a great option. With fall and winter approaching a chunky sweater is another great choiceÂ instead of a t-shirt. It’s so important, even in every day life, to feel comfortable in whatever you are choosing to wear. If you aren’t comfortable and your tugging your shirt down, or adjusting your panties every 2 seconds, you probably won’t come off as your best.

There isn’t really any right or wrong way (ok, there might be a little wrong lol) to dress yourself daily or for your boudoir session with us. Make sure what you are choosing fits well regardless of the number or letter on the tag. If it fits right you will feel good!

You’ve probably seen me mention “statement necklace” a few times and maybe you are wondering what exactly I’m talking about. This is something that Danea taught me, and now I’m going to pass this wonderful knowledge on to you.

A statement necklace is something more than just a chain and a charm. It will be a piece that might be bigger than you’ve worn before, but once added to an outfit it can change the whole look. It can help to make a dress “dressier”, or it can help transform your look from day to night.

There are many online shops you can find statement pieces at. Some of my favorites are Francesca’sÂ (they have their own category for statement necklaces!), and Kohl’s. We all know Kohl’s is always having a sale so you can pick up some pieces at great prices. I’ve even found a few on clearance for around $6.

These are some of my favorites from Francesca’s. They have a store location in Los Gatos and in Palo Alto.

Of course a colored necklace can be a great choice as well.

Â You can find a really great piece of jewelry almost anywhere you shop. Keep your eyes open and look around! I hope this has inspired you to invest inÂ at least one necklace that glam up your wardrobe a bit. And make sure you bring your favorite one with you when you come in to see us for your boudoir shoot!

Bridal season is happening all aroundÂ us!! There are so many different options you can do for your bridal session. Many brides tend to stick with white, and while that is great, there’s nothing wrong with adding a bit of color if that is more your style.

The blues in this pictureÂ are beautiful and say “Bridal” just as well as white.

You can personalize your session even more by bringing in your bridal jewelry, shoes and veil. Â You mayÂ even choose something for your session that is comfortable enough to wear under your dress on your big day.

Many brides choose to give their Groom an album as hisÂ gift before the wedding. Just think of the twinkle in his eye as you are walking down the aisle to him, and the even bigger twinkle in his eye later that night when you show him what is under your dress.

It’s Friday! It has been so hot this week. And worse than just hot, humid. When it’s this hot and muggy you don’t really feel like wearing clothes, so what’s the best choice? A maxi dress! There are so many cute options. Every store you go into has some nice choices. Locally I’ve found many cute ones at Old Navy, Ross and Kohl’s.

I love this one! The colors and the pattern are beautiful.

I’m a sucker for anything with black and white, and this would look great in my closet 😉

This is another favorite that I came across.

Â What I really like about maxi dresses isÂ how versatile they are. You can transition them from a day to night look very easily. Throw on a jean jacket or a blazer for the office, some cute strappy sandals or heels, and don’t forget some gorgeous statement jewelry.

Hello Dolls!!!! Mari here with an awesome and exciting makeup review.

Who doesn’t love finding great new makeup products with amazing color pay off at amazing price points??! Not many people know about this brand yet and I DON’T KNOW WHY!!!!?? It’s called Colour Pop, and all items are only $5.00. Yes, I said $5.00!!!!!! We know being here in Cali, especially Bay Area, we can definitely appreciate a good deal since everything is buku expensive here lol.

I have used lippies and eye shadows so far.
Let me start by saying the shadows are a creme to powder formula which is so easy to apply a light wash of color with a soft brush or pack on the pigment with your finger tip or a firm, flat brush. I definitely added some of these to my makeup artist kit! I highly suggest you wear an eye shadow primer for a longer wear (8-10 hrs), with out primer I did notice some fade out and some light creasing (4-5 hrs).

Lippies is what they call their chubby lip pencil. 🙂 So cute!! These lippies take the Â place of lipsticks in beautiful satin and matte finishes with a great wearability. Touch ups on lips for me was about 3-4 hrs apart. Not bad right??!

Hey all, Devon here with another Fashion Friday. When I saw this set I knew that it would be perfect for this weeks edition. It goes perfectlyÂ with the show special that Boudoir Coterie will be offering at the Curvy Girl Lingerie Fashion Show.

These are some great options for your boudoir session. With booking the show special you bring 3 outfits to be photographed in. One of those outfits can be a white sheet session if you would like. Who doesn’t look good lying naked on a bed with a sheet strategically draped over them 😉

I love that it gives you several ideas of 4 different options. Of course you do not have to use these ideas, go with what you feel comfortable and sexy in! A robe or see through lace top like in the top photos. A sexy brief & bra set like in the next set of photos. A corset which is sure to show off your girls and curvy waistline (if you choose to bring a corset or a garter belt, make sure you bring stockings to go with them! Please stay away from the stay ups as those are difficult to fit into the snap on the garter strap). Â A tank or cami set is another nice option for those who might feel a little shy. Let’s face it, there are some nerves happening when you are wearing next to nothing in front of someone you’ve never meet who is yielding a camera!

Hello dolls!!! Mari here with makeup Monday!

So, eyes are the windows to our soul right?! And those brows are the frames to that pretty face. Today we talk about brow basics. How many times do we see a beautiful face or great makeup and see some questionable brows? Sometimes we might not know where a brow should start. Where does the arch go? How long should the brow be? Well I’m here to help you out with that!

Let’s start with some basic TIPS. A nice, fuller brow will always give us a more youthful look. Let’s think back to our early years before the tweezing began lol. Â An overly arched brow will give you that evil queen look, we definitely DON’T want that! The biggest brow NO NO as a professional makeup artist are those spaced out brows; when they are over tweezed in the center, making the brows and eyes look too far apart.
Here’s a handy little grid to show you how a brow should frame the eye. Take an eye shadow brush and hold it against your eye to follow the grid lines of where to start the brow, where the arch goes, and where it should end. Pretty easy once you follow this!!! Fill in with pencil or powder and work on letting those brows grow in where necessary!
