Friday already? Where did this week go?

I was browsing the Anthropolgie website while trying to come up with ideas for this weekâ€™s post, when I found this gorgeous pajama set (pictured in the graphic below). I quickly saved it to Pinterest (my birthday is coming after all) and moved along.

Still stuck on ideas, I decided to check out lingerie on Pinterest, and came across a cute lace racerback bra that I see getting re-pinned quite often. Thatâ€™s when it hit me — what did the cute PJ set and this lacy bra have in common — they are both pretty from all angles!

Let’s face it, most of the time we focus on what we can easily see in the mirror, and forget about the other side. Â I know Danea features some fabulous tushies every Tuesday around here, but what about the rest of the back side? Itâ€™s not just all about the booty!

I love the simplicity of a gorgeous back shot. While a woman’s back is totally sexy on it’s own, sometimes it’s nice to add some pretty lingerie to accentuate it even more.

I’m really loving this sleep set from Anthropologie because it’s totally sexy, but looks really comfortable for every-day wear. That gives it an A+ in my book. You could also swap out the bottom for a black lacy boy short for a different kind of look.

Chuckie Arlund Worshop | San Jose Bay Area Boudoir Photographer

It’s been over a year that I’ve been sitting on these images. Last March I was able to attend WPPI,Â a large photographers convention in Las Vegas and attend a couple workshops. One small workshop on lighting was hosted by Chuckie Arlund. It was a group of 8 or so photographers in a small hotel room, one nervous but lovely model and the teaching about Radio Poppers and playing with lights. Each photographer had a few minutes to play with the poppers which was pretty cool. Here’s a behind the scene shot of Chuckie with the light meter, my friend and fellow Boudoir photographer Petra(holding the light), and the lovely Dana.

I couldn’t tell you which the following images were done with the radio poppers and which were natural light etc… it was too long ago, but there sure is a difference in the light and colors among these images. It was fun to get to play with these and I was pretty sure I was going to order them, but I didn’t get around to it after my trip and now I would need a refresher course to remember how to use them. Haha. Regardless I enjoyed the workshop and I couldn’t just let these lovely images sit in a folder. I may have only had a few moments with her but Dana did a wonderful job and I wanted to share the few images I took. Thanks again, Chuckie and Dana!

Happy Fashion Friday!

Bridal Boudoir is becoming more and more popular these days (if you donâ€™t believe me – take a look at Pinterest!) and there are so many cute outfit options. If youâ€™re planning a bridal boudoir session and need some inspiration, read on!

I had a boudoir photo session about a year ago as a gift for myself (okay, it was actually a gift for my husband-to-be, but if you’ve had a boudoir photo shoot you know what I’m talking about!). Bridal was one part of the session, but looking back I really put a lot more effort into my other two outfits. With all of the other wedding planning I had going on, when it came to the bridal part of my session, I just grabbed a cute white bra and panty set from Victoriaâ€™s Secret and called it a day. While thereâ€™s absolutely nothing wrong with a good bra and panty set, I was really just in a rush and had no idea how many other options there were.

If youâ€™re in the midst of planning a wedding AND a bridal boudoir photo shoot, here are some fun ideas to get your creative juices flowing. Now that Iâ€™ve found all of these, I might just have to have an anniversary session one day. White isn’t really just for brides anyway.Â

When you’re planning for a bridal session, don’t forget about accessories. One of the easiest things to do is to wear your wedding accessories if you already have them. Might as well kill two birds with one stone. Flowers also make a great prop and they don’t have to be anything too fancy. I’m a big fan of a simple bouquet with just one type of flower like we have shown HERE in one of my past bridal posts. It’s a great way to add a pop of color without being a distraction. Or, if you happen to be splurging for a trial bouquet and time it right, you could always use that too.

Mini Session Madness! | San Jose Bay Area Boudoir Photographer

Earlier this month I mentioned the launch of our Coterie Petite mini sessions and I was able to change payment options thanks to some new studio management software(thanks Pixifi!) You can now pay the $200 retainer upfront and make payments on the balance prior to your Petite session date! Wahoo!!

I have also had a few people wonder what a set of ten images may look like. Here are ten from a regular shoot but these were taken in less than 15 minutes and we even had time to go inside while she was just in the bra and panties and do a few more poses. However, I only have permission to share the shots from the hallway but this just goes to show how many gorgeous images you can get with one outfit.

Next week I will share a sheet set and again, 20 minutes 10 fabulous images! Doesn’t Miss J look fabulous!? I LOVE this outfits and all the textures, so HOT!

It’s been a while since I have posted a set of session images and thought this would be the perfect time to show some of the different looks that can come from a 2 hour session. Depending on which session you choose it’s normally 3-5 looks and it’s fun to mix it up– sexy, playful, romantic… we at Boudoir Coterie will do our best to make it happen.

There is something unique about every session I do and every client I work with. Sometimes it’s a prop, sometimes it’s part of her story but whatever it may be, every session has it’s own unique vibe! When Miss L sat down in the makeup chair and asked for a dramatic look with funky hair, I may have actually squealed. It wasÂ out of her norm but perfectly suited her style and personality. Let’s face it us moms tend to lose a bit of ourselves after having kids so give us an excuse to go all out and we’ll grab it! This gorgeous gal has twins even- rock it momma! She was so much fun and requested some shots of her geeky gamer side– but with a sexy twist. Dang, this should make all those gamer boys swoon, even if it’s still through the use of technology. Haha.

Game on!

I LOVE her hair… wish I could rock this look! 🙂

I told her he has a total Annie Lennox vibe going on and she admitted she’s a big Annie fan. Doesn’t she though?!

Those legs and shoes! Heck, even I’m swooning at this point… but more with envy. 😉

It’s about to get a whole lot hotter in here!

Okay, I can’t help but snicker at that last shot… it took a few takes and a LOT of laughter! And of course when you’re looking this good why not get a fabulous Facebook friendly portrait. Ha!

There are even more wonderful images of this gorgeous gal but I didn’t want to go too crazy with this post. I will say that Miss L was fabulous and we were cracking up the whole time. I hope that when my ladies look through their images they too are reminded of the fun we had as much as it does for me. Now here’s a shot where she decided to mimic me and how I shoot… hey sometimes you do what you gotta do to get the shot. LOL!

Thanks Miss L… and I will forever think of you when I hear Imagine Dragons on the radio. 😉

Tushy Tuesday- Bride | San Jose Bridal Boudoir Photographer

Welcome to this weeks installment of the terrific Tushy Tuesday!

I will admit I’m kinda smitten with this bridal shot! I have been booking a LOT of brides lately and it’s always fun to mix it up and try new things. I love the walking away shots and the candid feel they have. This gorgeous gal not only had beautiful gams, but the perfect tush to do so. Add those sweet bridal touches with the garter, shoes and veil… sigh. So pretty and romantic! I also gave this edit the black and white treatment with some grain for a magazine film feel. â™¥
